JUDAH
JUDAH, April 16 – Mrs. W. Garside left on Tuesday’s train for Sexsmith to attend the graduation of Miss Lilian Milton and Miss Annie Amelia from the Sexsmith Bible Institute. Miss Milton was a former teacher of the Judah school.
A whist drive was held Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. M. Mears, of the Smoky district, on behalf of the Red Cross.
While at school Thursday morning little Dennis MacRae had an attack of acute appendicitis. He was rushed to the Peace River hospital by W. Felsing, where he was operated on immediately. Everyone wishes him a speedy recovery, especially his little school pals.
Mrs. Wm. Forster and daughter Caroline arrived on Tuesday’s train after a month’s holiday with her husband, Sgt. Major Wm. Forster, in Calgary and her sister in Herbert, Sask.
Mrs. Ripley, of the Smoky district, is spending a few days in Peace River.
Mrs. Florence Williams and family are spending a few days with Mrs. A. Skubovius.
Harry Edelman is shipping a carload of registered oats from the Judah station.
Mrs. H. Ripley, Mrs. J. Frazier, Mrs. Wm. Forster, Mrs. F. Frey were passengers on Saturday’s train to Peace River.
Quite a few farmers of the district shipped cattle Saturday, including R. Troup, J. Millar and W. Garside.
Lee Bash was a passenger on Saturday’s train from Peace River.
A whist drive will be held shortly at Smoky school. Announcements will be made later.
Sgt. Major Forster arrived on Saturday’s train from Grande Prairie and left Monday Fairview, where he will speak for the Eighth Victory Loan.
